Floral Bath Salts Ingredients to Detox and Calm:
Dead Sea and Epsom Salts
More than fifteen million years old, the dead sea is among the earth’s saltiest bodies of water. In fact it’s ten times more salty than the ocean! Ancient Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians bathed in the salty water and rubbed marine mud onto their skin to revitalize, soothe, and cleanse. Today the benefits of dead sea salt are world renowned and it often a component in our modern beauty routines.
Epsom salts on the other hand, weren’t discovered until 1618 in small town in England by the name of Epsom. Go figure… These mineral rich salts are often used to help reduce muscle aches. When purchasing either Epsom or Dead Sea salt make sure you only buy pure salts such as those you find here in the Pronounce Skincare Herbal Boutique. Avoid those mixed with artificial colors, fragrances, or any other necessary (often toxic!) fillers.
Calendula Flowers
The fresh flower heads and petals of calendula can be used fresh or dried in beauty recipes. The blooms contain anti-inflammatory properties, making it an excellent skin-soothing ingredient for floral bath salts1.

Lavender Buds and Oil

Rose Petals
A classic, yet intoxicating fragrance, but rose is more than simple a gorgeous aroma. Rose petals are a beauty ingredient like no other, containing trace amounts of rose oil. They are known to soothe, soften, and improve the appearance of the skin. Rose petals also lend a beautiful rich pink or red color to homemade floral bath salts, not to mention their aroma lingers long after a soak.

DIY Floral Bath Salts (detox and calm) 16 oz

- 1 C Epsom salt
- 1 C Dead Sea salt
- 2 tsp lavender flower buds
- 2 tsp calendula flowers
- 1 tsp rose petals
- 1 tsp chamomile flowers
- 4 drops lavender essential oil
- 4 drops blue chamomile essential oil
- 2 – 8 oz square glass jars
- Funnel (optional, but these silicone funnels are fantastic for filling jars)

In a medium bowl combine one cup Epsom salt and one cup Dead Sea salt. Stir to combine. Add four drops each of lavender and chamomile essential oil. Stir to thoroughly blend oils in the salt mixture.
Next, add two teaspoons each of lavender buds and calendula flowers. Followed by one teaspoon each of rose petals and chamomile flowers. Stir one last time to blend dried herbs into the salt mixture. Scoop into airtight glass jars and store until use. Yields 16 ounces.
Soak It Up to Detox and Calm
Pour two to four tablespoons of floral bath salts into a warm bath. Soak in the aromatic salts and layers of dried herbs for twenty to sixty minutes. Try it once a week to de-stress and unwind when you need a little R&R!
