Vitamin E is essentially a family of antioxidants. Antioxidants help grab up free radicals that could otherwise inflict damage in your skin. This is good! Free radicals can lead to a host of problems in the body, such as heart disease and cancer. Antioxidants are awesome!
Vitamin E can come from various sources, but they are all plant-based sources, as animals don’t produce Vitamin E. All things containing Vitamin E contain it in varying amounts. Pronounce Skincare Vitamin E contains 18-20% mixed tocopherols and is close to 7500 I.U. per oz.
Vitamin EÂ Body Uses
Although not a ‘true’ preservative, Vitamin E is a wonderful way to help keep your natural products from oxidizing quickly. This should be the last ingredient in an ingredient list, as too much can be irritating, but a small amount is helpful. As such, always dilute your Vitamin E.
Precautions: Vitamin E oil is a concentrated product and may cause skin irritation or allergic reactions. Proper dilution of no more than 1% within another carrier is required if you are going to apply it directly to the skin. Always perform a skin patch test. We recommend that you consult with a qualified healthcare practitioner before using herbal products, particularly if you are pregnant, nursing, or on any medications.
