Certified Organic Sweet Almond Oil Summary

Almond oil is a gentle (yet powerful), carrier oil that is excellent for all skin types…not to mention that it smells absolutely amazing.

Suitable for all skin types especially dry & sensitive. Have oily skin? No worries, this oil will work wonders for you, too. This oil is readily recognized by your skin as a “helper” and will help your skin maintain proper PH levels. It seems odd to put oil on oily skin, but there is substantial anecdotal evidence from almond oil users showing support for the way it makes their skin breakouts decrease.

The amino acids and vitamins in sweet almond oil go on light and smooth and help the more solid or thick oils (such as coconut, neem, castor, and tamanu) penetrate more deeply. It absorbs easily and softens very well. The emollient properties in almond oil help to improve skin tone and complexion. It’s also a great addition to you or your kid’s bath time. Because sweet almond oil is super emollient, it’s also a real treat for massage.

Ingredients:

Make It:

  1. Place a small saucepan on your scale and hit the tare button so it’s at zero grams. Add the beeswax until your scale shows 8 grams, then hit tare again before adding the sweet almond oil. Measuring this way is easy and doesn’t dirty a bunch of dishes!
  2. Melt over the lowest heat possible, stirring constantly until melted. Using a clear bowl for the beeswax and almond oil and placing it on top of a saucepan as a double-boiler is preferred,
  3. Turn off the heat and add the vitamin E, rosehip seed oil, glycerin and essential oils if using.
  4. Pour the liquid into your blender and allow it to cool in the fridge until its white and semi-solid. You don’t want it hard, but more like the consistency of shea butter.
  5. Turn your blender on medium high and sloooowly drizzle in your rose water, hydrosol, or distilled water. You can use a stick blender, though it’s trickier to pour while you’re mixing. I’ve also had success with a stand mixer, but the lotion was more prone to separation after a few weeks.
  6. Store your lotion in a sterilized glass jar and make sure your fingers are clean before dipping some out. Enjoy the soothing feel on your hands!
