Blue Vervain abundantly in the Great Plains, and often found on prairies and meadows. The Dakota tribe’s name for blue vervain translates to:Â medicine.
Traditionally blue vervain has often been used as a tea, but has also been found in tinctures, foot soaks and other herbal bath creations, and even infused in skincare salves and creams.
Used as a poultice or ointment, the herb has been said to be a natural remedy for bruises, insect bites, dry skin, and some have even included eczema relief. It’s also been used for sprains (…and even an ingredient in pagan love potions).
